Final Thoughts
Although Europe is one of the more expensive regions of the world to travel, it is still doable to travel Europe on a budget in 2026.
Prices listed are estimates based off a single traveler in May. Prices in the summer for accomodations will be higher and generally lower in the winter that the estimates above. Another way to save is by traveling with other people and booking early, ideally at least 6 months before your trip. Affordable accomodations are the first to get booked, so the closer to your trip you book the less options you’ll have and you’ll be stuck choosing from mid range priced hotels and airbnbs. Also, a double or triple room is almost always cheaper per person than a single room. If you would like to travel Europe even cheaper then hostels or camping will give you even more savings, although those types of accomodations aren’t for everyone.
By choosing the right affordable destinations and planning ahead, you can experience Europe’s culture, landscapes, and food without overspending. These countries offer some of the best value in Europe and are perfect if you want to stretch your budget while still enjoying rich and memorable experiences.
